I got an ATS 3 pc. and want to try my hand at porting it a bit. What bits or tools work the best for doing this and where do you get them?? Does anyone have any good before and after pics?

Thanks Matt

I got some carbide rasps (I think) from Harbour Frieght tonite. I used a couple with a drill and it doesn't look like they will last at all. I don't have an ACE store near me, to my knowledge.

Ok, what I put up there /\/\/\ the rotatry rasps, I dont think will/are going to work. I got the wrong thing I think.

yes, those will work... double-cut for iron!

I would get the biggest ball nosed cylindrical burr you can find, but you'll need a die grinder to really make something happen, it'll take you forever w/ a drill. the goal is just to smooth everything out, you're not going to see huge gains hogging the thing out

LOL I was just using what I had, but I will be buying a die grinder to do the job. Thanks for all the input guys. Keep it coming if there is anymore.

I ported my stocker out with a drill and some carbide burrs from fastenal. It took some effort and time but it wasn't to bad.

I'm working on a new PDI right now, nice manifold and they actually do a good job in the machining but I'm making it that much better.

yeah, the PDI T4 is a beast! I didn't go nuts with it, but it definately needed some help. I just smoothed all the steps and lips near the head, and smoothed everything out in the "collector"

Eastwood has some good stuff to use and pretty good prices. FYI if you did know, if you read that ebay sale,
that price is for one bit only.... not all 4.

Yeah, I seen where it was only for one and down towards the bottom it does say these can be used for exhaust manifolds.:bang
Thanks for the info.
