I'm suppose to figure out/fix what been going wrong with dad's 99. Its 99 with a 5 spd. and had the Posi lok kit in it when he bought it. The problem is when you put any sort of load on the drive train when its locked it pops out. I found out a couple weeks ago in about 10 inches of snow if you hold back on the cable it will stay locked.

I don't know anything about these kits it seems like an adjustment issue I just don't know how it adjust. So if anybody knows anything I would appreciate the help.

Thanks

Brian

I am having the same problem with mine. I believe the cable is stretched. Mine has a little bit of adjustment, but not much, and it has worked a little bite. I may just go out and get a new cable and call it good.

My coworker's jeep had one of those things and in heavy snow/mud he had to hold the handle to keep it locked in. It was a brand new kit and he never could get it to work right.

I would be concerned that you may have ground down the center axle splines or the collar. If it wasn't disconnecting all the way this could happen and then give you your current problems.

I just installed mine last week so hope not to have this problem. There is a positive stop when you pull the cable to activate 4 wheel so I can't really see cable stretch causing problems with this end.

I would pull the cover off and check to see if a full cable pull will pull the circlip up against the housing on the inboard side. you can also check out the splines and collor condition.

Here's their web site to see if it can help.
