Is there a place to buy powder coated stacks? or should I just have a local place powder coat one? Does the coating hold up well to the heat?

Looking at putting a single powder coated stack on my truck so I can pull in the classes that now require verticle exhaust. Without doing the 90 on my exhaust tip...

We sell the raw stacks, this way the coater only has to coat the stack. Some coaters may charge for removal of the exsisting coatings. As for it holding up to heat, the powder coater will need to tell you what the heat level is. I would recomend something above 1000 degrees. Maybe look into ceramic coating them as well.

jaswright2003, you have any more pics of your 7"? Looks like what I want. I want it about cab hieght. Just wondering how far down it goes. Is the 36" measured from the tip of the miter?

Look guys I know the powder coating stuff is cool and all but when I did mine I just went to the local big rig junk yard and got a raw 36" stack off a truck and took the steel wool to it to clean it up and then alcohol cleaned it and shot it with tsc satin black enamel. Two coats and let it dry then I steel wooled it again and then shot it two more times and it looks great and hasn't peeled or chipped or discolored at all in over a month. Cost me $35.00 dollars for a single 5" black stack. Just a thought.

I had bought a raw 7 inch pipe and then had it powdercoated. I had the hole exhaust done and only cost me 180 for all of it and it is thick. It has help up to the heat with no problems with flakin and that.

heres one, not quite finished. As for the length it is 36" overall. I just adjusted the pipe through the bed to make it the height I wanted before I welded it up.
