Guys new here been reading trying to get a general idea. It looks like 500ish-650ish is the power range you can get w/o going nuts on budget. or twins. So my ?? is $6k-10k for this power range and a trans to hold it. Is this in the ballpark? Thanks.

First off welcome to CompD ! I would say more on the side of 10 than 6. trans will be around 4. 1k for a tuner (EFILive most likely for high 5's or more.), 500 for a lift pump, a few hundred for an intake if your looking more towards 600, few hundred for an exhaust .
Now mine's an LBZ; pistons are a concern running the Pulsewidth needed for 500+ . I swapped injectors to run a near stock PW and have been 508 so far with a stock intake. add anywhere from 800-1500 for them.
