Power Seat Issue

The power seat on my '94 wouldn't go forward or backward. It would try, but as soon as it did it would kick toward the passenger side and stop, like the driver's side rail would move before the passenger side rail.

So I figured the rail had to be bad. Ordered another rail and got it mounted up. Started doing the same thing. The seat would go forward a little then kick to the passenger side and stop. Took the seat off to check it out and without the seat on everything moves fine and at the same time. Put the seat back on and it cocks to the side again.

Any ideas what we're missing here? Thanx!

Doesn't it use a separate gear box for each side. Just guessing that some gears are bad on the pass side, or maybe the drive cable.

I don't remember off hand but it'sdone the same thing with two different assemblies.
