With all the hoopla about the new Banks Type D truck running so well with it's divorced twin turbo setup, I was wondering if this has been tried on a Powerstroke??? I know space is limited under the hood of a traditional truck but could it be done? Benefits? Drawbacks? Very curious . . .

Its about to be done in your Comp D Deranged Ranger!

Very nice! Have you announced that already and I missed it? Will it be intercooled or use NOS for cooling as well as power?

We are going to use all sorts of crap on the ranger.... Even Voodoo and Witchcraft...but yes NOS wil be there as well

Will this Powerstroke Voodoo and Witchcraft Mod be available to public? What kind of power gains could I expect? :hehe: :hehe:

Correct. We are summonsing Tom Cruise to help us with his witchcraft. The Tom Cruise mod will be available after some testing. We are currently looking for the proper packaging to contain the witchcraft safely. We can't have it leaking out, and infecting the driver. Someones wife or girlfriend could get hurt. The TCWM, (TOM CRUISE WITCHCRAFT MODULE) will be designed to be stacked with the TCB that is currently available.

Yes it has been done on a powerstroke. A 7.3 to be exact. There was a video of it floating around actually. It was done on a 97 and you couldn't shut the hood. The turbos were actually stock turbos, with .84 exhaust housing. The guy who did it actually took them off of his truck cause it was not very streetable. He wanted to be able to drive the truck not just work on it all the time.

The Fordota's gonna have two GT37r's, one on each exhaust manifold, that will be piped into a distribution box built by Joe Hellman.

there is a gentleman out of missouri that has a 95 PSD with twins that are stock. he cant put his hood on either.

I can't see any technical reason for running parallel turbochargers on a diesel engine if it does not spin a sh#t load of rpm. This is because just about any decent single will support it, and we don't have the headflow to run boost that low and still make really, really strong power. Not to mention with them in parallel you do not benefit from the amazingly broad powerband that compounds afford.

Banks is running them because the engine turns rpm up where a single charger would have to be huge to support it. But two smaller ones are easier to package and aren't the size of the engine block. Not to mention the headflow is retardedly better than the 7.3 not requiring rediculous amounts of boost pressure to still have good mass airflow into the engine.

Now on the otherhand, if you take an engine that does turn really good rpm (with power) and it has very good flowing heads.... AND you throw in a sh#t -ton of boost from compounds you're looking at a SERIOUS power proposition.

Not one thousand, more like 2000rwhp.

Think modified tractor pulling.

Two Cents.
