ppe or smarty

I have smarty s06 pod with tnt tune on my 04.5 Ram 3500 and love it. I have a built auto and it is just smooth and constant power.
 
i traded for the ppe should i have dodge clear the ecm before i put it on i have seen on some forums where it will mess the ecm up?
 
what model PPE is it? if it's the standard 03-09 Xcelerator, you don't need to reflash it first. If it's an older model or a hot model, I wouldn't even install it! LOL
 
its the standard 03-09 Xcelerator not got the hot+2 it

but why would you not use it if it was the old one or has the hot+2 on it
 
the hot+2 uses the same old hardware and software as the old ones... if they VIN lock for any reason, you're screwed.
