My '01 is getting a substantial amount of pressure building up in the fuel tank. When I loosened the fuel cap while the truck was running a large amount of air came out from the fill neck, followed with a vapor cloud coming out of the tank. Im running a P-pumped 24v with an Air Dog 150 lift pump. Does anyone have a clue whats causing this? appreciate any input.

your injector hold down isn't tight enough or to small of a washer the combustion pressure is blowing back into the tank. getblown 5.9 had it to where the fuel was flowing out of the fill neck because of the blow by of the pressure

This was what i was thinking. but i didnt think it could do it?

That makes sense, thanks guys. Next Question is could this have dammaged anything? Its only ran a few pulls on a dyno.

another cause for that is a block ( clogged ) fuel tank vent. It will cause problems with the Airdog for sure.

Is the only "vent" the fuel cap on the tank? the truck sat for 2 months or so.

no, you should have a vent on top of the tank somewhere. At least the newer trucks do.

no vent, i just had my tank out 3 weeks ago so i know...and trust me one or more of your injector hold downs are loose and its blowing compression through the return system.

hows it running? send me a PM and let me know buddy.

This happened to me just the other day after i changed injectors we are suspecting the pressurized returned lines
