hate to tell ya but you can get a new one at that price.

Adam its mitch I'm not getting the same thing I am lookin into an s465 this was more of a gauge thread to see IF anyone would be interested in case I went through with getting another turbo

your going to run a 465 as a single on your truck? one it will take days for it to light and you can forget about driving it on the street anymore with that auto

Not necassarily, depending on how big the tires are and how loose his converter is. Mine drives just fine on the street! And runs real hard on top!

yer right. i was thinking of a 475. why would you sell your 66 and go to a 65 with mach 6? dont make sense. i could see you going to a 62 for drivability but i can assure you will not feel a difference between the prostreet and the 465 to justify the switch. prostreet will cool better on the top end as well. but its your truck you do what you want with it.

The S465 should flow and cool much better on top than a ProStreet, and it is more durable because of the bigger bearings/shaft. JMO

plain and simple the 66 will flow more air than the 65mm will and with the fuel hes got, he needs everybit of that 66. going DOWN to a 65 will more than likely not cool as good on top but its not going to be a HUGE difference to even tell a differenc. thats why i siad he is changing turbos for no good reason

The compressor cover on the S465 is essentially "larger" than a S300 cover and I believe the compressor wheel is "taller", the S465 will flow more exhaust out with its 83mm/74mm turbine wheel as opposed to the S300 80mm/71mm turbine wheel. I am not saying this because I have one but that is info given to me by a very knowledgable guy on here who knows his turbos. I might be wrong but from my understanding an S465 should flow like 10-15lbs of air more than an S366.

I would love to get on a dyno with my S465 and then swap out to a SPS66 or something and record the differences, I think that would be good info for all...

I have never seen any data to say the 65mm compressor outflows an ETT 66 compressor. I have even asked it point blank with no answer. Now as a package the s465 seems to do better on top as far as dropping EGT's. Possibly shoving more air in the engine and the tighter exhaust keeps the heat in???

I think the difference will be minimal, and the drive ability will suffer.

Have you tried and compared the two or considered the difference's in turbines. Everything isn't all about the compressor.

you guys are both right. i have no experience with the 465, just going by what i thought. all i was trying to say is he is going to sell his turbo for something that he probably wont even notice a difference with. just seems like a lot of work for something so minimal.

Comparing only the compressor wheels the flow is close, but that is only the hole of the dohnut.

Is the exducer of the compressor larger on the 465? I don't really understand much about turbos but would like to.

Also, if money is no object, why not just run a smaller turbine with a large external gate? Is this not aloud in pulling? Seems you could have your cake (good top end exhaust flow) and eat it too (streetable because of quicker boost unless there is surging issues).

Are you the kid with the green 24 valve? I have got the grey p-pumped first gen (cole), give me a call at (916) 812-1678, I am interested
