Getting ready to put the cam back into the motor, do I need to pull the pump gear in order to get the cam back in? Thanks for the help!

I just used the gear as a handle for puting the cam back it. Plus once the cam gets in...it would be a nightmare to get the gear on!!!!!

woops, thought he ment cam gear.....it too early to think!

But ya it would be a good idea to pull the pump gear off. Lineing up the teeth on the crank to the teeth on the cam, them onto the pump would be a head ache!

You don't need to pull the pump gear off. You may have to tweak it a little, but that's it.

We didn't pull the pump gear off when we did my cam and didn't have any issues at all getting the gears to line up.

Thanks for the help, I'll try it tonight and see how it goes.

Got it in tonight no problem, just have to lift up on the back a little.
