Just got a 96 Ram 1500 Reg cab 5.9 v8 given to me would like to turn it into a puller . Do you think its possible or are frames diffrent from 1500 to 2500?
Im in the process of looking for axles, trans ect. thanks forthe help !

Frame is lighter...I wouldn't want to use a 1500 frame for a sledpuller with a diesel.

Now a drag truck...the Cummins fit right in the 1/2 ton!

the project x truck (2wd) they switched over the 3/4 ton front suspension to 1/2 ton stuff to save weight and to get the truck to sit a little lower. I would think if you wanted a lighter setup for racing starting out with a 1/2 ton would benefit you greatly.

I like they way ya think what would i need to do ?

Pull gas engine...install diesel...hook up lines and wires...fill tank...turn key

I may have left out a few steps...but the engine bolts right in with the correct years mounts!

wow you make it sound so easy. maybe I should get you to come over and halp me put a 12v in my 79 j-10 pickup. it should be that easy too right at least it is a chrysler product right, should just bolt in?

Keep in mind, I did this for a race vehicle...minimal wiring, hoses, etc.

Dodge's motor mounts are all the same, whether it's gas or diesel, so that saves a lot of time fabbing new mounts.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not...I really don't care one way or the other.
I've seen a 6BT dropped into an S10...THAT was a lot of work. My 1/2 Cummins swap was torn down to a bare frame, stripped, engine tranny dropped in, and cab put back on it in a weekend. To make it run, should take about 2 weekends...because I'm not going to use factory radiator, coolers, etc. But that's just to make it run/drive...finished is a whole different story:evil!
