Pulley on the fan

Had a lil problem with my '01 last night. Was pulling a load of straw to put away in the shed and all of a sudden heard some weird noises from the front. Then smelled burning rubber so shut it down. Found the pulley around the fan to be off and the serpentine belt to be down beside it.

The water pump is not attached to the fan is that correct? It looks like it is down lower on the passenger side. Could my bolts on this pulley have just fallen out? The fan spins free as it sits and doesn't appear to wobble from a bad bearing or anything.

I haven't had the time to tear into it just yet, it's still sitting there till prolly this weekend sometime.

Yes, there are like 4 bolts I think that hold the pulley onto the fan hub. The water pump is not driven with the fan like on many gassers. It is separate.

Like ghost said, there are 6 tiny 6mm bolts that hold that pulley on. They could have broke off or just rattled out.

If I have to replace the bearing in the fan hub assembly do I need to pull the radiator? Or can just the shroud come off?

Called local dodge dealer to get the bolts, they don't stock em AND they want $7 each for them! And couldn't tell me the size...

So I see from this thread they are 6mm, anybody know the length?
