anyone pulling in 4 high with an auto. i have a full goerend built trans and just dyno'd 793hp and 1589trq. the pull i was just at i tried 4 low and let it shift but didnt seem like enough wheel speed. thought for my next pull i might try the high side. its on a track that normally is some what soft and my tires are terra grappler with 25% on rears 40% fronts. any thoughts would be appreciated. have a great season everyone!

do you have a tc lock up switch a friend just put one on his 2001 and it made a big differnce when pulling locks it in 2nd then when at the end it starts to bring him down in rpm then he unlocks it and keeps wheel speed up

I asked dave goerend my self the same question, He said grab OD 4x4 LOW do not use high gear.

What gears do you have? I used to run 4Lo 2nd gear with my 3.55s. Now I run 4Lo 3rd gear with 4.88s. Locking the torque converter helps a bunch.

Tim? If you get some traction you better have Brent build ya a set of traction bars... ;)

Mine held up better than my rear pinion... lol

Dave is an awesome guy and knows his stuff...i just have never heard anyone say take it to OD....maybe they are really making some strong stuff these days...

I told him i wanted more wheel speed and asked him if i can use high gear and he said do not use low gear and use OD if it will grab it. I have tried several time on really loose tracks and the truck won't take OD. I'm seeing about 3300 rpms on the typical track and 27-29 mph wheel speed (edge programmer) and 24 mph track speed (GPS)

Tires could be hurting you also, with some fresh All terrains you would probably help you out also. I pull a chevy, 4lo 4th gear, and usually see somewhere between 35-37 mph through the middle of the track.... Sounds like you are making plenty of power, where do you pull at? I want to pull against you, I live in Waterloo, IA....

Good Luck Pulling! Maybe we will bump into each other......
