What is out there for repacment of a 5 speed in a 96 dodge. Is the 6 speed better for pulling? Dose anyone make a "pulling trany"? or just put another junkyard one in and run till I break it.

big input shaft nv4500 is the strongest thing out there thats an easy fit. gear your truck so you can run it in 4th low and you shouldnt have any trouble with it unless you are over 1000hp.

I think Jeff Garmond or SunCoast could tran-plant an Auto in there.

What does better at the pulls, an auto or a stick?

I really think a stick is better for pulling, can built plenty of boost at the line and let it go when you want it.

changing gears isant an option in that I drive the truck I have only broke 2 trans in 2 years of pulling I just wondered if there was a solution insted of a fix

also on the auto vs stick. if I could start over I would go AUTO all the way. the cost is almost the same by the time you put a pulling clutch and input shaft in. also a pulling auto is much freindler on the street
