Pulling the vp monday, haven't read up on it in a while.

Any tips, pointers, or special tools needed?

Thanks in advance!

Tighten the pump nut til the engine spins over. Also make sure you dont forget about the 2 bolts on the bracket to the engine block.

Before you pull the pump off, bar the engine over if need be so that the key is somewhere in the 12 o'clock position.

If you have a puller laying around you can use it.You just need two m8x1.24 mm bolts for the gear.
2 rear lower pump bracket bolts
4 ip bolts
keyway with #ers and arrow point to rear of pump
preliminary pump nut 22 lbs.
4 pump nuts 32 lbs
pump nut 125 ft.lbs
2 rear bracket bolts 18 lbs

Lol, maybe need to go into it a little more. The breather on the front of the engine take that off and you will see the pump nut. Take the pump nut off and you will see a line or whatever match that up with the TDC line on the engine cover. Just bar the engine over by the alternator nut its alot easier.

take a paint marker and paint the front of the keyway white, helps to make sure it lines up right.
you will also need a mirror and a good flashlight to check the keyway.

i always use a piece of shop towel to wedge the nuts into the socket to hold them when putting the pump back on the timing cover
