PULLOFF.COM Update:
Wednesday January 13th
It’s been a perfect storm lately, my wife and I just moved into our house, and we finally got internet access today, Wednesday January 13.* So I’ve been in internet blackout for a few weeks.* We still don’t have a working kitchen sink... laundry room... finished drywall in the kitchen and dining room... trim... and I’ve got tons of other major projects that need tending to.* With so many things to do, I just haven’t had time to go to the library or coffee shop to get online.* All the other things in life have taken a priority lately.
While I’ve had no internet access…the PULLOFF.COM account has been suspended due to excessively high traffic.* I’m using too much of the servers resources and causing the server to run slowly.* Traffic on PULLOFF.COM has continued to increase every year, and it’s getting to the point of needing a dedicated server to handle those traffic demands.* I’m always amazed at the page’s success, and I am extremely thankful for all the people who have made this page what it is.* When I started this page in 1997 I would have never guessed it would become so popular, and I would have never guessed it would still be around after all these years.
I’m looking at all my options, the cost involved, etc... and I’m trying to figure out a reasonable solution.* I’m working with my server company to see what the best solution is, and it may or may not mean some changes to the page.* There may be a different message board style that uses less resources, there may be an inexpensive dedicated server that can handle the current traffic… as of right now, they are trying to come up with solutions at a reasonable cost.
Now that I finally have internet access I’ll try to keep everyone up to speed on the pages status and what changes may or may not be made.
As for all the rumors…
No we are NOT being sued.* I don’t know what we would possible be sued for.* Any libelous posts have always been removed when requested.
No… pictures on the message board did not crash the page.
No… it had nothing to do with the Outlaws or all their issues.
No… it was not because anyone hacked the page.
No… it wasn’t because I got sick of the jealous person/people who trash me.
As always, there are more rumors than truth, but the truth is very simple, PULLOFF.COM is popular… very, very popular.* It’s not a page crash, it’s simply too many people and too little resources on my current server.* Thanks to all the people who have made this page so popular.* We'll be back up and running as soon as possible!
