Well my trucks been sitting for 5 months now and i found out i can get my back driver door open. I pulled the handle it popped and the door budged a bit and now is stuck. It wont latck tight but it wont open, it has about a 1/4 inch play in it. The handle does nothing(thinking it broke)? How can i pop the latch mechanism to open it? Can i get to it under the plastic panel easily? Im gonna start buy pullin the driver seat and back seat to get room i guess.

Nope, don't have good pics. Just remove the door panel & reach in there through the hole and unlock the latch. You most likely broke the cable off or popped the rod out of the latch.

Ill try that out. I only need it to open so i can get the doors fixed cause the rust is gettin them. All four need new bottoms.

Just coat them inside/out with Al's liner & that will get you by for a long time. If you need some Al's let me know. :Cheer:

I think they are past that point, Ive allready done a get me buy for a while fix once. Got me another 1.5 yrs but its commin threw the bedliner now. Im planning on gettin the bottom halfs from lmc truck and chopin them and redoin all 4 and painting the truck black.

Most likely the rod just popped loose. My 02 did that once and my dad's 01 is still like that since I haven't fixed it for him yet, lol.

Ill find out this weekend i wont get up the garage till then cause we have snow commin again. Has anyone on here messed with them lmc lower halfs? Do they fit nice?

My 01 did the same thing three times. After the third time it got JB welded!

I replaced my lower drivers door once about a month before getting hit by the hail storm [before total restoration. They didn't have quadcab panels yet, so I had to use the standard cab panels. It fit nice other than I had to customize it to work on the bottom rear corner.

The nut on the handle that holds the plate that controls the two rods came loose on mine and did the same thing. I was able to push in on the door while using the handle and it made it easy enough it worked. Was the drivers side also.

Hope that's all it is, since mine was the fact that my latch on the bottom got stuck...frozen solid, wouldn't budge. I hosed it down with pb blaster and tried everything i could to pry it up to release, but ended up having to cut out the bolts and latch from the bottom of the door on the inside to open the door....not cool.

This happened to me also and it was APITA. I ended up taking to the dealer and it took them 3 hours to open

I dont like the sound of that. Hope its nothing that bad.

Well i messed with the door tonight, what a pita. It seems the bottom plate with the locking mechanism is sticking terribly. I got it open and had it workin for a bit and now it locked up again and i couldnt get it back open. I was looking at part for replacing it but im not shure what one i need. On the parts list there is no pictures. What would you call the box on the underside of the door, would it be the lower left latch?
Genuine Dodge/MOPAR OEM Parts Catalog
This is where i was looking up the part i would need, just not shure what one i need. I took the torx bolt out 2 of them and 3rd one snapped off but nothing came apart. Anyhelp is appreciated.

yeah, i don't know about the part number, I just dremeled out the bolts and the latch part, and then had to pry the door open to lift it up over the latch. It really sucked, since I ended up screwing up the bottom of my door pretty bad...I'm just running without a latch in the bottom right now...I'll have to figure it out later on.

How tight do the doors latch when closed? Do the shake and rattle at all? Mine is only a puller so if they stay tight with no bottom latch ill try that then. I thought about that at first but didnt get that far yet.
