has anyone here broken a AAM 11.5 rear or a 9.25 front axle while sled pulling i have heard of dana 70 and 80's being broken just haven't heard much about a AAM being broken?

Big power Duramax guys have been blowing thru the 11.5 rear for about a year now and have been trying to find someting that will hold up.

I havent heard of the actual guts of the 11.5 going, but theyve been eating shafts above 600 hp.

seems like the durmax guys are having issues with them. any dodge guys having issues with the AAM axles?

no, none of them make enough power to break one like the dmax guys...

if i had the money id put a set of AAM's under my truck and sell the danas

We have been tearing them up lately with Jon's truck 3 axles and a carrier in 5 hooks is not looking good for the AAM.

So im guessing nobody is making after market axles for the AAMs yet, I know of a few dodges with the AAMs that are gona be making some big power.

SCS makes factory spline axles for the aam. They say 3 times stronger than stock.

I broke an axle shaft at Tampico and will probably be going with Moser axles next.

I'd bet everyone that broke anything other than the axle broke an axle also. Or at least had before. When the stock axles break it can wreck the carrier. Ring and pinion is pretty strong. If you don't bounce or do something stupid they are very tough. But the stock axles need upgraded. Just like most stock axles they taper down and don't maintain the full 1.5 inch. Most aftermarkets will maintain the O.D and be much stronger.

Tony Burkhard Has some bigger stuff in testing, but i dont think its released yet. 38 spline IIRC.

well if anyone is looking for a set of aam axles i have them for sale. 9.25 front and 11.5 rear out of my 05 dodge 2500.
