Questions about Edge CS programmer

My buddy has an Edge cs programmer he wants to sale me, i was wondering if there is anything i have to do before plugging it into my truck. when you plug it in to the computer it has his trucks vin number in it, is there a way to clear it out? Our trucks are both 2011's so there shouldent be any problem on that part.
 
There's a few different options, Edge Juice (power adder) or Edge Insight (gauges only)?
 
What I'm saying is that there are two different CS units. One adds power, one is gauges only.
