Hey guys,

I have a 2001 Dodge and here lately I have been pretty anxious to put a new chip or something on my truck to see if I can get a little more power and possibly help out on the fuel mileage. My truck is pretty much stock and I have been looking at the Quadzilla Adrenaline, but I wanted to see if you guys know of anything else that would be good. Thanks for all the help!

Fuel system like Fass or Airdog should be first. Stock lift pumps are trash & can't support stock rather than a poweradder. I'd start there. A Airdog 150 can be had for $460. A fass is more, both are a great choice. If you get a Adrenaline, it has gauges. If not Adrenaline, you will need a Fuel pressure, egt gauge minimum.

Right now the best add on boxes are the Edge, Quad, and TS Performance MVP, the MVP is not yet released, about 4-6 weeks out still.

There are plenty of dyno sheets out now for the Quad and the Edge products, only one that I have seen for the TS box but it appears to be a typical under rated TS product.

Dont count out the FMS that box is awesome on the VP's and has boost and pyro, fully adjustable, defueling by egt. Look it up Blue Chip Diesel FMS. There a couple for sale here on comp if you search for them.

I'm not counting them out, but to me the FMS is more of a "pro" style box whereas the Edge, Quad and TS are all "entry level". Lets you get your feet wet with some good power, then you can stack any of them with the FMS and get some gooooooood hold my beer passes in :rockwoot:

Are the FASS Fuel Systems hard to install, and how much will they help out your truck with power and fuel mileage???

The FASS (or any fuel system) is not really designed to give more horsepower or performance.

It is to make sure that your fuel pressure to the VP44 doesn't drop to unsafe PSI.

The VP is a very sensative chunk of trash. If it does not have proper fuel pressure or fuel lubricity, it will fail. A new VP runs about $1100-1800 depending on if you upgrade.. Not cheap.

If you are looking for milage, the Smarty is a good choice. It has a specific, non-towing mileage setting that usually offers a decent improvement. If you don't want to mileage tune, you can run a higher setting for more horsepower. Plus, the Smarty can be stacked with nearly any of the options listed above. Further, it is also a scan tool.. So if you get a check engine light or need to check a code, you can. Finally, you can adjust speed limiters and tire height with it.

A Smarty would be my first choice, followed by any of the fueling boxes listed above.

If you're just looking for mileage, and a little boost in power, I recommend the smarty.

If you're just wanting power, go with the quad adr! However, be forewarned that some quad boxes do have surging issues.

Smarty is great for all reasons mentioned above. However, it will not make the power of an ADR or Comp. Its all in what you want though, because the Smarty will make enough power to torch a stock tranny anyway. As for the fuel system, I would look into the new FASS replacement pump.
