Quick question for my first time on the rollers.

I finally found a dyno that is closer than 200 miles away and when I get back from my honeymoon I want to do a baseline for my current set-up before I throw more parts at my truck.

My set-up:
5x.014s
131s
Ground Barrel, flipped/ground washers, stock spring AFC
100 plate full forward
Stock timing (just got my timing set and didn`t want to mess with it before I drive to Florida)
3kgwm (fuels hard to ~2800)
60/74/VGT
Electric pusher pump/stock lift pump combo
Fuel pressure regulator on return line set to 42psi
3.73s
285/75R16s

The dyno is a Dyno Dynamics *runs for cover* and my question is, where do you guys think I should start my run? I can hit 20psi by 1500 by rolling into it from 1300 and I top out around 42psi by 1800 which holds there until it stops fueling at 3300...

Any tips, suggestions, or recommendations are welcome. Don`t worry about hp guesses, comparing numbers I know I will be darn lucky to see 400... 350 wouldn`t even surprise me.

BTW I`m posting this from my phone, so please forgive any spelling errors...

Im guessing your truck is an auto right?

Crap... Yeah, Goerend tripple disc, VB, steel front planet. Billet input is the first thing getting done after the wedding.

I have full control over LU and OD as they are both on toggle switches in the dash. The afforementioned boost numbers at rpms are in 3rd LU no load and my truck only weighs 5600#

When I dyno, i usually try to build about 15psi, and start the run at about 1600rpm. This involves a bit of brake loading. The key is to be consistant so you can get repeatable numbers every time.

street driving and running on the dyno are two very diff things

you will learn soon enough grasshopper, haha

I dont brake boost on the dyno, kinda like cheating if you ask me, but what do i know

good luck stan, let me know when you are gonna head over, I might wanna come, if im not back home already

Yeah, I`ll let you know, I plan on going sometime in February... Guess I`ll have to experiment a little with where I start the run. Maybe start the first run at 1300. Pretty sure the dyno has a brake on the drum to load it up enough to hit 15psi. Which shouldn`t be that hard with the VGT :D

You have stacks?

If your going to the same place I am tomorrow I'm sure they won't be prepared for that.

Besure to be curtious about the soot.

Ill be back in time for that, maybe ill throw my truck on the dyno too :Cheer:

Sounds like a plan... I would say I`ll buy the cold ones, but we`ll just have to see how the budget looks :Cheer:

Nope, both Lee and I are single 5" exit in the rear... I was thinking about going back to dual 5" miter (sp?) cuts, maybe I`ll wait on that till after I hit the rollers. Thanks for the reminder Jason, maybe you`ll have to come give us some tips for how to run on that dyno??? Bare minimum share a cold one with us:Cheer:
