I do realize that this has probably been covered many times but i am having issues with the search feature, I am planning on doing a common set up with a silver 62 and mach 4's, my question is are 12mm studs enough to keep the head gasket intact or are o rings needed. What psi would I be looking at?
Thanks

you should be fine with 12 mm studs i thinck you can hold:st: like 75lbs of boost

We tried to get away with a similar setup last year on a buddies 01. 200hp injectors and a sps62 w/redline box. 12mm studs and no o-ring, blew the headgasket on the 1st pull. pulled the head and ringed it, been holding over a year now with quite a few pulls on it.

I'd leave the head on and just replace the bolts with studs one at a time. Actually thats what I did and its been holding great =P

I did the same thing as ph4tty and my ticker is reading 184568 miles with the stock headgasket. I have a few sled pulls and one 1/4 mile time with a drag comp, 62/71/14, jammer 5's and a scheid lightning vp and it seems to be holding fine.

Plus I run the piss out of my truck!!

164k miles on my stock headgasket with 12mm studs only. Sees 50psi of boost on a daily basis and has been seeing over 40psi of boost for the last 3 or 4 years.
