quick tc question please help

Ok long story short I busted my wifes 01 5 speed dodge 2500 Cummins transfer case. Front shaft broke and busted large hole in the side of case along with a bunch of cracks. Question is will an 01 DHD automatic transfer case work in place of her DLD 5speed tranny transfer case?? I know there's a spline difference from auto to manual. So if I can interchange the input from a manual dld to a auto dhd then will it work?
 
Other than input shaft size difference and splines my other main concern is the length of transfer case. If I'll need to shorten my driveshaft of lengthen my front shaft going to the dhd case?
 
Thank you! The only thing I didn't catch was a part number on the input shaft needed. And I think thats all id need?
