Would I be asking for disaster if install a rail cap while still running by stock injectors with 32k miles on them? I dont run the rail pressure very high just every once in a blue moon. I still have a stock cp3 as well.

I think it would be fine but it depends on your definition of "very high". What pressure do you see?

I've ran mine capped with a stage I cp3, smarty and stock injectors for 15k miles so far.

Why cap then?

what he said ^^^^ the only reason to cap it is if you want to run high psi or if your is leaking and you'd rather just cap it instead of replacing it.

I just dont want to blow the relief valve. I had a buddy of mine blow his the other day on his 03 with just a predator/puck stack. I will be drag racing at an event in about a week and a half so i will have the pressure turned up on the smarty and i might have an arson III kit or an mp8 by then. If the pressure would happen to spike up i dont want it to blow the relief and cause me to lose power and spray diesel every where. But then again I dont want to have it capped and have the rp spike up and hurt my stock injectors.

the psi the PRV blows at seems to vary a lot between trucks. If it does blow, you won't have fuel everywhere. It will return to the filter through the banjo bolt. I hope you have a RP gauge and IMHO, don't think you should be pushing stock injectors too hard with a lot of RP. Between the Arson kit and electronics, you could do some damage.

You could just make or get a PRV plug and keep it in the glove box just in case.

Ok thanks for the info. Do i have to get a special cap thats made just for that or can i just go to the hardware store and get one? What size is it?

Really it isnt as bad as what you would think. My 6spd helps alot with spool though. I really don't mind it at all. I might dyno it on the 20th to see what she will do. Im shootin for low 500's. Lets just say I don't have an EGT problem!

One other thing too on the subject of spool of the silver bullet with stock sticks. Since I installed that 2nd gen style exh. manifold, i can tell a noticeable difference in spool over the 3rd gen manifold.

When you get the mp-8 I think It comes with shims for the fuel release, or it did on my 6.7. I have some extra shims and the nut to take the valve apart, we could shim yours when you come back up if you want. That is if they are the same as on the 6.7's but im pretty sure they are. Even the dirtymaxes have to be shimmed from what I understand.
