Ram 3500 AAM 11.5 with 16 inch wheels?

Will the dually 16 inch wheels fit to 05 Ram 3500 rear AAM 11.5 axle ?

I don't think so, the OD of the brakes is the same front to rear and the brakes are why 17's won't fit.

I have read in SRW the 16 will not fit (even for 16.5 its needed to gring calipers) , but dually axle and wheels might be bit different story ...

I am only interested of rear axle info

update: today I hade chance to check the rear dually axle wheels, there is no way to fit smaller than 17 inch wheel. :doh:

2nd Gen 16" OEM chrome-plated steel wheels fit the 11.5" AAM - been rockin' a set on the '05 for the last month.

It could be similar to the newer toyota tacoma/4runner axles, a 16" OEM rim will fit but aftermarket needs to be 17".

I wonder if the OEM 16" alum rims would fit.. lots better tire options in 16" rims.

Last year at SDX (09) i saw a 3rd gen dually driving around with 16" wheels on it. It had a set of aftermarket simulators on it but they were 16. Kinda looked out of place. Believe it was blue IIRC

Update:

I tried to install 94 dually 16'' steel wheels to 05 3500 rear axle, it WILL NOT FIT.

The centre hole is in 94 wheel approx 4.527inch, but 05 wheel center hole must be approx 4.724inch

Can You post some pictures of your setup?

Do You knew the 16 inch and 17 inch wheel offset difference?

How wide is stock dually 16 inch wheel? How about 17?
