range shift inhibited?

whats this mean? its on a 03 dura with an allison. just a bad connection or worse. when the indicator light flashes theres no movement. when the lights solid and shifter is in drive it lights up 3rd instead and when theres no light it seems to work fine.

Check your fluid level while idling in neutral. Sometimes it will do that when the fluid level is below minimum .

You have a bad nsbu switch, get it from an allison dealer if you want a good price.
