I just built a georend transmission, clutches, 3disc converter, billet shafts. Problem is the thing wont move now it goes into gear but you have to make 3grand for it to roll foward. I am hoping yall might have a direction to point me in as to where the problem is. thankyou

Does reverse work? When you say you built a goerend trans, did you install it, or did you build it?

no i bought all the parts and built it. Reverse does the same as foward will,
barely move.

Did you put all of the rings/seals on the input shaft?

Could be lots of things, get the service manual and a gage and start checking.

checking pressures and i have the manual its not very helpful

yea i am pretty sure i thought the same thing at first and i filed the converter also

yea was working good untill it broke the imput shaft i didnt adjust the back band but snuged up the first one and then backed it off 2turns could it be those

Sadly I am betting it needs to come out. Sounds like you don't have pressure, and you need to find out why. It doesn't take long to burn up a set of clutches, and hitting 3000 rpm would burn them up in short order.

i know thats another thing i am scared of. this is the first trans i have ever built so i am wondering if i forgot a seal somewhere. Could it be in the vb i took it apart and put it back together.

Easily could be the VB, I figured you would have bought a goerend VB when you said you have a goerend trans.

Yea bud just pull it and p.m me when done I'll hook ya up with some alternate media to help ya out with diagrams!

Double check the sealing ring on the fat end of the input shaft. Thats what I forgot and I had no forward motion at all. Wasted an hour pulling that ***** back out and tearing it down.

make sure you tightened the pump bolts...also you said you broke an input shaft, make sure it didn't damage the pump.

It has a new pump and front drum because both those broke. I am pretty sure i have all the seals in right. I called goerend today and they said that there is suposed to be two thrust washers in the front one on the shaft and one on the pump. Well i forgot to put the one on the shaft. Also they said i could check it with air once i pull it out, anyone know anything about that.

Yes you can assemble the assembly and use air to actuate the clutches. Sounds to me you really need to spend some time in the service manual reading, and find out what your clearances should be etc. There are clutch clearances, gear train clearances, input shaft clearances etc. Especially when changing hard parts these should be checked.

i checked all my clutch packs those are good i never checked my end play tho. Is there more than one manual because the one i have exsplains some stuff real good but then dosent even talk about other stuff i have the manual that came with the kit.
