Redline box users...

quad xzt+ with a beta hot tune lots of timing ran real nice with my redline

Comp box with no fueling wire attached. Gives some additional adjustability on the fly as well......

Wouldn't that be very similar to using an ez?

Yes it would except you have 5 sub-levels of on the fly tuning as opposed to 3 on the EZ and no on the fly tuning. I used this stack to make over 830 RWHP on a SO truck.

sorry i havent been on this site to know your old truck well enough, but were you spraying??

I may try that. That will certainly be cheaper than buying a smarty to stack with it. Im trying to get over 600 rwhp with my 2000 vp truck. Ive already got a silver bullet off my 07 that im gonna throw on there and I plan on running mach 6 injectors with a redline stacked with something.

Yes that was using nitrous, on #2 it would do 625-650. But I set the truck up for max HP on nitrous.

Doug....was it a comp or drag comp ?

This was a Drag Comp but they both would work equally as well as the drag comp's differences are done through the fueling wire.

I have tried a lot of combinations with the Redline (and other fueling boxes). There isn't a clear winner. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages. My current favorite is the Redline box with the Smarty Revo.

The type R powerpuck makes the most hp.

The drag comp allows the most adjust-ability. Doug (JetPilot) is right about that. When the pump wire is not attached, both the main and sub levels still change the CAN buss fueling. The sub levels make the changes based more on boost, and the main levels more on rpm and throttle position. With drag racing this allows a lot of options as far as getting the truck to hook up and to spool quickly and cleanly off the line. It's also dead nuts consistent.

The Adrenaline is not very consistent, and is hard to build and hold a steady boost when staging.

The Smarty is very consistent, easy to build and hold boost, and seems to having better timing maps. At least on my truck. My 02 is one of those that when the weather is cold, suffers from to much timing on the top end. This really shows up with the Drag Comp. With the Smarty it never has the problem. With the Smarty power levels I can change how the fuel is delivered, and with the Revo software I can adjust the timing, fuel duration, and torque management (how sensitive the pedal is).

Remember this is on my truck, other trucks may respond differently. Also, my main usage, besides daily driving, is drag racing. If your main interests are sled pulling or dyno testing, then your results maybe different.

paulb, king of posts. i have read multiple write ups with very detailed info from u time and time again. once again, another great post!
p.s. i do not know the man personally but he has answered many of my questions in the past.

What settings do run Smarty on? I tried quite a few different settings & sw4 seems the strongest.

what exactly is the the "duration" on the smarty? i just got mine and im not sure what that is.
