Redline or quad for RPM on VP

Redline is gauranted RPMs. Quad says he has 5K coming but no results yet. There is no gauranted power that high in the rpms right now tho.

quad say 5k but the vp wont go 5k so why would you even advertise it they will get the same problem they have with the beta tunes everyone complaining that i wont go to 5k
redline unlimited is you best bet just hook it up no tuning needed 41-4200rpms every time

I maybe wrong but I thought I was hearing that the new Revo tune for the VP Smarty can go to 4K.

5k on a vp-44 sounds like a whole lot of seized head/rotors to me. drain the fuel from the rotor and you take away its lubrication...

ive heard that awhile back but is it out yet i think they said that was the next thing on the list after they got the 6.7 smarty out

I just checked the downloads page at Mads website and it has the Revo upgrade for the VP Smarty. Though I didn't see any discription on if its a 4K tune.

On a side note, I would say to hell with all these boxes and electronics and just p-pump it if you want max RPM. If you think about it, by the time you spend all the money for the elctronics, a better VP and all the other goodies, you could have P-pumped one for maybe alil extra money, and still have more RPM and HP in the long run. Just my opinion though.

I know redline unlimited is the best, be we ran one with mixed results. It still didn't want to make power over 3800. If you can buy a cheap redline, it will buy some time before you ppump it.

i do agree but i dont want to ppump mine since its driven on the street also

i drive mine on the street, if you tune it right then its very streetable, it coems down to matching the pump mods, to the sticks and the turbo.

the down side is there is no way to tune it down if you wanna pull a trailer or something. you can put a valet switch on it but that pretty much makes it a turd to try and pull a load or something.

its def not for everybody...but let me tell you this, if I somehow end up with another vp44 truck someday...frst mods will be saving up the cash for a mild p-pump swap..(4ks, plate, stock DV's, small injectors, AFC tuning) and it will be my DD/towrig. but the way things look...im leaning towards a 3rd gen now for those duties.

3rd gens are nice for a DD. alot quieter and smoother riding. Although I don't have those finer qualities with my 04 now that I have this loud Raptor pump, 6" stack, traction bars banging around, and a solid hub SBC DD making the tranny growl at idle, lol. I've done decided if I buy another for a DD and a Tow pig, its staying bone stock except a good towing program and some exterior mods. I miss my comfort and quietness I had before.

Back to topic now, I seen where scheid has quick adjustable fuel plates now. I wonder if just a quick plate and AFC adjustment would be the way to go from mild to wild switching from the track back to the street. For give me for my ignorance if I am dead wrong on that. I'm still alittle new to major stuff on a p-pump :bang

well i have some POS jeeps for a DD, they keep breaking down...so its BYE BYE time for them.

trying to see what I can work on a somewhat cheap 04 reg cab, mods would be gauges, intake, straight pipe, TC and VB and leave it at that for DD/towing. not sure if im even gonna get the truck yet tho.

The issue with the PPump is you can't adjust the timing on the fly. The valet switch hooked with a regulator would allow you to tailor your power very easily, but the fixed timing is a challenge.

quick change pump gear and timing cover maybe? But my luck the ger would slip and the timing jump around going down the road lol.

I have the gear, but it still isn't that quick. I mean 10-20 minutes you can change it. You won't slip the timing on a adjustable gear. Be very hard to do.

a ppump is always in the back of my mind just not sure yet im getting ready for turbo and injectors so its either buy a used redline or just ppump the truck but for now the redline would be cheaper if i go ppump il have weston hook me up with a pump since hes fairly close to me
