I have posted before that my truck is sort of, well, wierd. With a Smarty and el'cheapo granatelli box, I can hit 4,000+ rpms. I did a few runs at the shop the other day and it's still goen. I will try to describe my graph as well as possible, 'till my wife can post it.
Graph starts at 1800, in 4th gear,Smarty on sw5 and Gran on 2. Max power, both tq. and hp are at about 2200-2300rpm (414hp and 938tq). The hp tappers slowly to about 3300rpm (290hp). Then things get screwy. The hp and tq both start climbing back up to 320hp at 3500rpm. Then back down in a slow tapper to 150hp at 4150rpm. Yes, I said 4150rpm. The crazy thing is that the truck seems to want to keep going.
This is the second time in 6 months that I have dynoed and both times have had the same results. I do NOT have valve springs or a cam (yet), so I only did one run out that far this time. I do not think that has anything to do with the smarty or granatelli. In stock form the truck will pull past 3600rpm.
So my question is: How does a Redline graph look? Does it flat line the power longer? On the street, my truck just keeps pulling and pulling, alot like has been described by Redline users.
I do hope to get the Adrenaline hooked up in the next few weeks and I will post any differences. And I have had enough people tell me, '' hook that thing to a sled''. Man, the truck really sounds good at 4k rpm.
Anyway, any thoughts or input would be appriciated. Sorry for the long post.
