How do i fix the hopping of my truck. It hardly ever hops, but on a somewhat rough track or hard track it will. What can a guy do. I haven't been running any weight on the front because i've been running 5th gear for wheel speed tires were 60 in the rear and 55 front worked good at the Martinsville, IN pull but not at Colfax. Tracks were very different though. Any help would be appreciated.

I would probably start by adding hanging weights, and dropping the hitch height instead.

I had a thread up recently about the hopping issues I was having. My truck hopped horribly [link in sig]. I found my issue & it was a very easy fix. My right rear tire had a slow leak & only had 45psi in it instead of 50psi like the left rear. It is amazing how much difference 5 psi made in the truck.

i've hung weight but it gets alot of traction, too much for 5th. I hit the rev limiter in any other gear besides 5th low. So i dont know rather to hang maybe one or two instead of 3 like i have been or what

Drop the hitch.

what exactly is dropping the hitch going to do, or (gain) me. I'm not trying to be a smart ass just asking. I want to understand this so it doesnt happen again.

Dropping the hitch will allow you to run the weights up front, but you won't be loading the truck as much so you might still be able to run the big gear.

OK. Thanks for the explanation. So you think i can run the weight up front and still run 5th but lower the hitch

What about clamping the springs? With one inch of travel do you guys think that my springs are to the point where they are wanting to load and unload? Just a thought, please keep the suggestions comming.

Drop the hitch

Like the others said Caleb drop the hitch a couple of inches and it should help out. Jeff

Clamping the springs won't hurt!
