What brand ball joints do yall prefer or have had the best luck with? I need to replace the driver's side upper, but I'm going to do both the upper and lower since I'm going through all this trouble. :bang

Thanks..

Ball Joint

I'm really happy with my XRFs. I haven't tried any of the higher end ball joints though.

The XRFs have been holding for over a year and I have 37 MTs on 20's.

I was just looking at those!

How do I know which axle I have? The 3500lb or the 4500lb??

I've been using Moog joints. They've got the grease zerk located properly on the bottom joint...it can be greased with a standard grease gun. Lube is the key to long life.

I got the napa ones in mine. I put them in about 6 years ago and were a little more then the moog joints but are guaranteed and are greaseable.

id like to think that if they came from the factory with zerks, they would have lasted a lot longer. the ones on my 07 are toast. then again... these factory parts weren't built to last now were they?

I have to replace all four ball joints on mine, good thing they are under warranty :)

Those 3rd Gens have a hard time will ball joints..or atleast from what I've read.

The XRFs are in! They were stiff in the beginning but have loosend up. They are "Zero-Lash" ball joints and thats why they were so tight. The truck has 215,880 miles on it, so time will tell!

Just for future reference, wether 2wd or 4wd, a Cummins powered truck will always have the heavier front end...

Diggin this one up.....

Where can you get the XRF joints from??

XRF Chassis | Automotive and Heavy Duty Chassis Parts | Ball Joints

I use MOOG balljoints because I live right next the Advance Auto Parts I bought them from and they are lifetime warrantied...

I saw the website...is that the only place to buy them from??
Was looking for a retail location....

I've got brand new Moog joints but haven't installed them yet...thought I might check into $$ price on the XRF's before I installed the Moogs.

Just put moog's on my truck. Only thing I can see going wrong with them is lack of grease or to much grease. Lifetime warranty is hard to beat.

Grease is key. If you ever greased joints and seen moisture being pushed out you'll know its critical. I found some waterproof synthetic grease that I put in every new set I install. It's some tacky stiff chit that's hard to pump and stays put.
