My brother has a 2001 Dodge Cummins. He is currently running a superchip programmer, afe intake, and a 4 inch mbrp turbo back exhaust. He has 99,000 miles on it and is looking to replace the stock turbo. He doesn't want anything too big and laggy. The most he is planning on adding to this truck power wise is some rv275 or stage 1 injectors and possibly a lil bit bigger chip on it one day. Not looking to make big horsepower but a reliable truck to drive and work with. What would be the best turbo for this application and for the least money? I had heard that a S300G would be a good one to look into, but am looking for other opinions also. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

One other thing, what is the best transmission swap in and rebuild kit to get?

Thanks for any info on this!!

an s300 based turbo would get my vote possibly a 62/12 would be ideal or just a basic s300 which I believe is a 57/?/12 something to that effect.

I would think a dodgezilla would suit that truck fine with that little fuel.

Looking at your sig: please dont tell me your running a hypertech with a drag comp together.

I ran the hypertech and the j/a stack it works but thier is a thread on here about some dude in texas that mess him junk all up because of to much timing. I took mine off before thata happened to me. you will be better served with more air, so I would say sell the hypertch to help fund the turbo. I sold mine just the other day for 150 but you might be about to squeeze 200 out of it.

If he has an auto, he has the hy35. Get an hx35 for it.

I had the Hypertech before I had the Drag Comp, all the Hypertech is doing is keeping my speedometer right since i could change it with it. Also the turbo is going on my brothers truck which has less performance done to it right now. Just looking for info.

A 40 hybrid would be best bang for the buck. The S300G will cost a little more but I think it's a better turbo. I've been happy with mine. The little guy cools surprisingly well and spools quickly.

I would go with a htt 62/12 awsome turbo don't waist ur money on an hx35 it is only mildley better than the hy the down side to an hy is they have extremely small exhaust turbine and it get flipen hot fast the hx is a little more eficeint but not worth the efort or time turbonetics makes a turbo that spools very fast but big bucks
