My 98 has a supposed HX35/40 hybrid by Robbins turbo in indiana I guess that he is or was a cummins engineer. just trying to find info out and what size wheels would it most likely have and how much can I get out of it

Bill Robbins from southern Indiana. One of the first guys that was putting the HX55 hybrids together.

so what do you think this thing is capable of 450hp 425hp its my daily driver tow rig and work truck I was going to put some 4k gov springs, 100hp inj, .091DVs, and time it around 18 degrees. I was just wondering what the turbo was and if it would be worth keeping it on there

they are a great turbo

dont know about 450 tho

get a larger ex housing for it and it will be good to at least 375-400

your truck at 400 hp might just run better than your buddy's that can dyno 450....esp with with a built auto

its got a pretty big exhaust housing on it I dont know how big but comparing it to the turbo on my 3rd gen its pretty close. Im eventually going to put an S400 on my 03 and was wondering what I had to do to switch an S300 from 3rd gen to a 2nd gen style mounting. but in the mean time Ill just run this Holset

It would be a warm 450, but not to bad... though its a 12V so I'm not sure 100%. My VP truck made 436 with a HX40 w/ a 16cm housing without getting too hot. Practically the same turbo.
