Rough cranking?

My 98 12 valve seems to have a hard time starting. Can be a solid 5 or 6 seconds of cranking. Eventually turns over and runs fine. But I noticed when i tap the go pedal it fires up. Another thing I thought was odd...my egt gauge resets color when this started happening...

I'm thinking FSS? The boot has apparently long since disappeared....does this make any sense to anyone?

Just tried to crank it. The second I tapped the pedal. Fired right up. Seems to be idling at about 700 or so

Gotcha. I'll bump it up some and see where that gets me. Thanks for the insight everyone
