Can some one give me a basic rundown on rules and classes for pulling. We are having a local pull at our firemans field days, and i need to get some rules for them to go by, any help would be grateful, thanks DD

all rules are going to vary from state to state and association to association......is there alot of hot trucks around your area or is pretty much tuners and air intakes????

Yea what are the truck like in your area? what kinda of teching capabilities do you have?

Well im not a DHRA official thats for sure but i can kinda tell whats hot and whats not, but like i said im no expert. As far as trucks it kinda varies, alot of showboaters with 500hp trucks with there bully dogs and such if you know what i mean. I was thinkin maybe stock, super stock, modified and open, but i guess there is a lot of variables in those classes, as to what can be run and not in each. Maybe stock, mod and open would work since its really our first run at it. Im pretty sure ill have a lot to say in who goes where i just want it to be fair is all. DD

The easiest way to break up the classes by turbo size... Thats the biggest limiter on our trucks. Do a Stock appearing/2.4 class, 2.6 class(basically anything 66mm and smaller) and a 2.8 or 3.0 class depending on what you think your area can support. You can fit twins into that class too if the larger turbo is smaller than 3.0 or whatever... Then just fing an organization rulebook to get some safety rules, and then modfy them to what you want.

NADM's sled pulling rulebook is free and can be downloaded from their site - www.runNADM.com!

Go under sled pulling and look on the left side - red block!

Should give you an idea on the major rules that is written by the guys who started it years ago!
