I'm building a hot street / puller. I want a 465 for pulling in the 2.5 class. And because they are cheaper than other s300. But how will it do on the street. It would have a .90 housing on it for driving. I know it works on CR stuff but how about a 12v. Will it work or be a smoke show!

Stick or auto. Stick it should be fine, auto, just watch your stall.

My bigger s467.7 with a spool flange spools faster than the s362 or s364 i've had on the truck without a spool flange.

Its not that bad i have a 466 on my 12v with a auto and it starts to light at about 1700 rpms

Nicktf Is that on a 12v? Billet wheel or cast?

Cast wheels. See my spool flange thread and my drag race video of how quick I get on top of the charger. I found a big intercooler leak to boot so may get up on charger even faster when I get that fixed.

P and P head. hamilton 188 cam, 12mm benched pump, no injectors yet. I'm ready to spend money. just not sure on what to get.

I ran pretty much the same setup at elevation and it was fine. I had SDX 5x18's and a Scheid cam but same otherwise. If you drive smart it will be fine, but if you want a smoke show it will happen easy.

I would be happy if it never smoked. I'm not in to smoking out a four lane highway. I was when i was younger but no so much anymore. I have my other puller for the smoke show.

I never took the time to tune my pump to make it better either. It was on for a short time and I only drove to pulls. Still you can drive it without smoke if you want to.

I ran a s475/83/.9 on my 12v and I live at 6400'. So I would think you should have no problem but every truck is different.

I dd'd a 469, 472 and 465. All of them 83 turbine and 1.10 exhaust housings. They were all dd able if you know how to drive them. I never got to tune the pump in with the 69 and 72, but I have the 65 tuned in almost perfect now. Tiny puff of smoke then a light haze when you mash it.

it's fine. It won't spool like a s300 is capable of, but it is bearable with a stick. smoke show depends on how your pump is setup (afc setup mainly). A spool flange would be sweet...

Mine was the 465, with the 74 turbine and a .9 housing. It ran better than the ED built 66/74/14 s300 that I ran after that. Oh and i have no head work done so the P&P will help some as well.

"Streetable" is a relative term LOL To some people a 16cm housing on an hx35 is borderline; for others, a single S478 is a walk in the park

My plan is to fine tune the afc. I don't want alot of smoke. That was cool a few years ago but now i just want it to run good and not smoke to bad.
As far as injectors i was thinking abouta 5x12 or a 370 marine. I have the marine style pistons.
