anyone make one? whats the flow with it, stock cover is 61lb/min correct?

PM pricing if you have one. Thanks

I have one on my E.D. 62/68/14. Engineered Diesel built my turbo. I forgot what Chris said was the flow.
Heres a pic with my kids being goofy. It came polished also.

yeah, i know they are out for the bigger s300's not sure if the s300g (57mm) uses the same one just machined smaller.

how much extra did it run you?

im also curious about a race cover for my turbo wish someone from ED would chime in

hate to be the one that gives you the bad news but you can not machine a hole to a smaller dia

you can make it bigger, but not smaller

far as i know they are not avail (over the shelf)

but that does not mean that you can not make your own

from what i understand by talking with chris, the cover allows the use of a slight deeper compressor(entended tip...) for a regular 62 they flow around 65lbs./minute, and they 62 with the race cover may flow more like 70lbs./minute. he said that they will flow closer to what a 64 will(75lbs./minute), but did not give me a exact spec., spool up is no different than a regular 62 wheel. hope this helps.

The race covers for S300 start at 62mm. The raw casting doesnt have enough machine stock in it to clean up at the bore size you would need for a "G". Chris

So im curious as to when one would look into buying a race cover? Does it do anything other than flow more air or what? Better spool up?

it helps a smaller wheel move more air

smaller wheels are supposed to weigh less than larger wheels so if you look at it like that yes, you can end up with a quicker spooling combo

but, this may only apply to larger chargers, depends who you ask

if you put one on your 62/71 it wont spool any quicker than it spooled before install

if your gate is hurt and you get it fixed it will dramatically improve spool

:bang:bang obviously you cant make a hole smaller, i was asking if it uses the same casting just machined to a smaller hole if the casting itself started off differently, but apparetly it doesnt matter because there isnt one available.

Can a B1 get a Race cover? it is a 62/65/14. Or is it the best it is going to get?

i think the biggest benefit of the race cover is the ability to run a super 62 wheel, i was looking to do it on my s300g because of the smaller outlet.

Understandable, I just figured since ED was on the topic maybe they would answer my question as well. Granted the b1's exhaust outlet is 4 5/8's which is pretty big, Just wanted to see if there was room for improvement other wise. Didn't mean to hi-jack your thread if I did.

no prob, i was just saying that i THINK on a 62 you wont gain much from the cover w/o the wheel

ED will let us know for sure

Does anyone think a set up like mine could handle a set of 200hp sticks if i got the race cover?

it'll be over fueled

you would be better off with a bigger charger

like a 64/71

you ready to trade yet?
