Just wondering which would support more power and pros and cons of each sitting over a gated gt4202. Im sure the s300 would be a better combo due to the durability. The s300g specs are 57/65/12cm and the holset are 60/60?/12cm. Im kinda wondering if it matters that the holset is bigger because the s300 has a bigger wastegate flow and would really get the gt42 going fast and hard. Everyone's thoughts?

IMO use whichever you can get a better deal on. I think the biggest difference would be wastegate flow S300g = (2).625" and HX35/40 = (1)1" drilled out IIRC.

I did mid to high 600s with a gt4202 under a 35/40-14. I have ran the S300s and they worked great but are a much heavier frame charger so spoolup is slower. The gt4202 under a 35/40-14 is a great everyday driver/tow setup that will keep the tailpipe clean and give you very good drivability.

Dont think i for a minute that i meant you can tow with 600+ hp. Yes its hot but not as hot as one might think. You can keep it cool at 425hp level and tow without worries. Worked for me.

Great news, i guess i'll just put together the hybrid. Wonder how much difference if any of an h1c/gt42 compared to hybrid h1e/gt42?

Wonder the difference between the 1.01, 1.15, 1.28a/r on the 4202 in compounds. Just change spoolup and max air flow? How would it act on a truck?

Thats what i was thinking. Lower a/r would be more streetable, but the bigger the harder it hits once its lit.

Well things didn't really go as planned. I stumbled on this at work...

Stage 2 Garrett GT3782R for a CR dodge. Comp is 59.1mm/82mm and exhaust is 72.5mm with a .89a/r. Should spool way fast being ball bearing and run great over a gt42. Came with water lines, new compressor elbow, and big 4" exhaust elbow, etc.

It was more the opposit for me the bigger the more linear pull, the smaller had the hit more like a single.
