I have a question about the housing on a S400. I got an s400 from work for free. It came off of a 12.5L motor in a tractor so the exhaust housing is way to big for a single charger set up. I don't have anything big at the moment as far as injectors just 370's and only 191dv but am going bigger in the near future. What size housing could I go with? Where would I go to find just a housing? I'd like to be able to drive it on the street if I wanted to. It is a pull truck though. Kinda jus like to see if I could use this thing seeing how I did get a good deal on it. lol Thanks for any input and help.

No I haven't measured the exhaust wheel. The input wheel is 2.8. I will try to measure the exhaust wheel tomorrow.

Measure the bearing housing where the turbine wheel bolts up.
Is it going on an auto or a manual?

'Cause I got an S400 with a 65mm/92mm compressor wheel and an 88mm/74mm turbine wheel and I'm getting a .8AR turbine housing machined for it. So if the wheels are small enough you can get pretty tight housings...

Where did you find the .8 housing?

I would look at the 83 wheel for the .80 housing. Especially with the the 65mm compressor and the street driving.

Gonna use the stock retainer setup on from the s300? Or can you get a Vband setup to work on it?

That I don't know, I would have to ask the machinist. I just know I will have a T-3 .8AR wastegated S300 housing fitted onto an S400 with a 65mm/92mm comp. and 83mm/74mm turb. And my comp housing is an odd configuration that will fit my truck perfect.

Its going on a 5spd truck. I will right all my measurements down tonight and let yall see what you think. I have no idea what housings I could use.

You can put anything on there depends on how much you want to spend , I like 16CM myself

I have a 1.00 housing t4 foot for a 83/74 turbine if anyone is interested. Too tight for my application and it is collecting dust

Ok I finally made it home and out to the shop. The exhaust wheel at tip to tip measures 88 mm. I don't know a lot bout turbos but I'm thinkin that if I did get a housing it is going to be very hard to spool and keep it spooled with no cam. Am I right? Thanks for ya'lls input.

Can you change the wheel to a smaller one and get a housing that would work then? If so is it worht it to do it or jus buy a charger?

have to buy a new shaft and wheel, then your housing will be pretty large. That would probably make a good twin charger.
