SBC Dual Disk and starter spacer?

I know that there was a difference in ring gear spacing for the starter, but I can't remeber what it was. I just got my SBD upgraded with the sprung hub disks and when I got it back the new flywheel ring gear is in a different spot.

The ring gear is all the way forward closest to the engine, where as the old one that I sent back had the ring gear spaced about an inch away from the engine, kind of in the center of the flywheel thickness.

Does this mean I now need a starter spacer, or did SB correct the first mistake I made?

thanks
Ken

Could be a mistake. Call southbend and ask Peter.

guess i'll get peter on the horn tomorrow, would have called him today but they were closed by the time I received the package.

and I was looking forward to installin that thing this weekend....dag-nabbit :)

one call and they resolved the issue, Peter said I should have had a starter spacer included with the kit, I double and triple checked the boxes and nothin. I then looked at the invoice and it said the kit was a 6spd kit so that is why there was no spacer. I told them I was in no hurry, but he insisted on saturday delivery because of the goof.

One satisified customer here :)
