scheid lighting vp44?

the pros:
fuel's harder down low and up top (over HO),
makes a little more power
I have 70k on mine and goin strong

Cons:
Stupid idle and miss a low rpms
Cost

pros:
untapped VP it will add power

cons:
lopes
price
tapped VP it won't add anything

Save your money and buy an SO pump.

Same as an SO VP44 with a fueling box. Nothing special! Get an SO and Edge Comp or something similar and you'll be better off.

I disagree on "it's the same as a SO with a box, mine makes a hell of lot more power with the box on, vs off! is see about 40-42 psi made at the top of rpms without the box, and i see 50-52ish with the box on, and make that number a lot sooner, if that make sense

Tapped and untapped add power, they don't lope with the right injector, the price is worth it considering I've installed about 20 of them since '06 and have never had a failure.

Mine felt like the box was "half on" untapped. And tapped it felt like my SO did with the box all the way up. (Edge Drag Comp) It was better untapped due to the Electronics in the pump itself but driveability wasnt as smooth as my SO so in my eyes it wasnt worth it. Just my .02

Schied HRVP Tapped = SO Pump Tapped

I've been told the HRVP is an SO pump with HO electronics!

My II HRVP with a drag box felt a hell of alot stronger than my so/drag.

Problem was the pumps wouldnt last longer than 6 months.

Can someone tell me whos hrvp44 i have? On the top two bolts there is orange paint and the bottom two dont have any. I was told II hrvps have one bolt painted blueish purple. A year ago when i bought this truck it had this hrvp just installed and i didnt think to ask whos it was but made me think when i was told that if it doesnt have purple paint on one of the bolts its not a II hrvp. So does that mean its a Scheid pump. Thanks i was just curious.

The Scheid pumps have a bosch tag below the fuel inlet and return lines that have the part number and also say hot.

Granted my truck isn't the best at dynoing good numbers but the HRVP I ran and the SO pump I ran made the same power so I'm definitely not a HRVP fan. And I tried different injectors, connector tubes, different pop off's, it didn't matter. It loped and that's all there was to it.

Mudn 1, I would expect you to make more boost and make more power with the box on than off and have the boost come in sooner. Your adding fuel and timing which decreases spool up time.

yeah thats what mine says! and it lopes with stock tubes and ddp 150's, I have had it since 06' on two different trucks, and the first one I rolled, ran dry numerous times, and still kickin

well you said it doesn;t make power more power with a box over a SO? I guess I am confused!

Meaning a comp box and HRVP will dyno the same as a comp box and an SO pump assuming both pumps are in good condition. I think most people that run a HRVP say it makes more power than their last pump cause they are going from a bad pump to a brand new one. Sorry for the confusion.

I agree. A fresh Vp will make more power than one on its way out. Most compare the HR to a worn out VP and say it makes more power... of coarse it does, its new!

I have had my Lightning for 3 years. Not a bit of problems. Noticed alittle power increase.

I will have to disagree with you. The HRvp we have out performs any SO or HO with the same box in comparison and i dont see an SO or HO running a set of huge injectors and being able to fuel to were they need to be. I guess all the lazor work inside those pumps is just hype.
