Well it happend. And i found out the hard way. I ran it out of fuel. So my question is can i just replace the float level, or do i need the hole sending unit. I'm also thinking while i have it out i may put a sump kit in it.

Mine ran out at 1/4 tank, or a little above that. So the float is all i need?

yeah that should be all you need, any dodge truck i have ever bought i replace the sending unit. its cheap insurance...the bushing in the float arm wears over time and looses contact with its base and gives erratic fuel readings. hope this helps

Yes it does. Truck is a 2000 with 261k on it. And just recently started this.

Just bought a mopar sender for my truck yesterday(244k). It was only $52

Where was your fuel gauge at when it ran out of fuel? When I picked up my 3/4 ton, I was halfway across Ohio from Fort Wayne when mine ran out of fuel. I wasn't paying much attention to the fuel gauge and didn't realize that it wad stuck at a lil under 5/8 of a tank. Here all it was, the sending unit was turned inside allowing the float to get stuck on the side. Just a thought for something to check when you drop your tank.

i would seriously think about upgrading to a airdog fass raptor just a suggestion if your funds allow it
