I've got a friend that has an 01 24v with a TST and an exhaust on 37's. He says it's a total mutt and is going to go with a set of twins, sticks, fuel system, etc..

Give some opinions on the setup you would recommend for a real fun to drive truck that can still do it all.

I was thinking maybe a 57mm S300 over a 74mm S400. A set of Mach 4's or 5's, Air Dog and studs.

Would the BD towing Twins do the job?

I appreciate any input here as my knowledge of the earlier trucks is very limited.

57 over 74 would do nicely. Head studs, fireringed, valvesprings and a set of 7x.012's.

i think that would be a sweet and powerul daily driver. definitely stack a smarty with the tst and... :rockwoot:...yeah. i would be very jealous. if i could just find the money for a second turbo.

I made 515hp with Mach 4's, drag comp, and a Dodgezilla turbo (35/40 hybrid). It was pretty toasty. Added 62/14 over S475, and without any other changes it dyno'd 565hp.

If he wants to keep the TST, then stack it with something that does timing. Smarty, Edge EZ, etc. Because it's an 01, the Smarty would be a better choice because it reduces torque management. If you want to get rid of it completely install a RAD from BD. The gauges will not work when the RAD is turned on. I only use mine when racing.

If doing twins, oring the head and stud it.

Upgrade the TST to a Comp also... I loved the few extra RPM's on mine when I did :D

Thanks Paul, just what he's looking for. Just got off the phone with Rip and he put together a great deal for him on twins, sticks and studs.
