So my truck has what feels like drive line shake when your rolling down the highway in traffic and your out of the power. From say 45-60mph I feel it and it doesn't feel like unbalanced tires. As soon as I give it some throttle it stop. Even if its just the smallest amount of throttle. I have checked for the drive shaft to be loose and this isn't the case. Any ideas???

u joints. money says they are original
that or check for the welded on weights to be tossed

Mine seems to do something similar but at 70 mph and above. My drive shafts weights are in tack and I have all new u joints, bearings, balljoints, I have even changed the front tires and wheels twice shake is still there. Although my rear end is on its way to taking a chit, I guess it's possible that it's transfering the vibration through the rest of the truck? Mine makes no difference on throttle input either at above 65-70 it's gonna shake.

get ur driveshaft balanced. its like 40 bucks at a truck repair shop... i bet you find metal in diff lube too.. good luck to you

If you're referring to me then yeah I know there is shavings in the diff. lube however there more like metal filings (dust). I'm gonna pull the cover here in the next few days. I have a buddies truck in the shop now with blown spiders seems our luck runs hand in hand. I guess I could look into getting the driveshaft balanced. I don't know how it could have came unbalanced. Well it may have something to do with the 47rh tranny swap I did had to change from the carrier bearing to transfer case portion of the driveshaft. That's probably the culprit.

I appreciate it. Yall know about how much they run price wise?

If all you're drivetrain is factory then I agree with these guys but while you're looking at u-joints then check tranny mounts and carrier bearing anything that can cause vibration. Remember unless a joint is wore slap out then I think the most effective way to check them is with the driveshaft out. I seen a guy buy a $130 carrier bearing special order no return and wound up being a stuck joint.

In my part a u-joint is around 20-30 bucks depending on where you go. I used to install my own and for other people but there is a guy here that owns a company called Precision Driveline that can sell and install them for damn near what a parts store wants for the joint. I had all three put in my front driveshaft he charged $70. To me ya can't beat that with a stick.

Well I don't have a carrier being a 2wd short bed. I also just had the tranny out not to long ago. Everything was ok, it also did it before i had it out. I was wondering if it was a converter issue or something to that nature.

Ah, didn't realize it was a short bed, you could be right on the converter. The guy who built my tranny talked of "converter shuttle" don't really know what it means but he said that it could have the same effect, he thought that could be my issue since my converter was blue from heat and excessive slippage and the paint was melted off. Come to find out that wasn't my problem. Good luck let us know how it turns out.

I have an aftermarket one and its been cut open and re welded and balanced which makes me think its not that but you never know.

Check the converter to flex plate bolts and make sure all of those are tight.

Come on now. Yall all know im easy on this truck. I don't see how I could wear out a U joint LOL
