simply awesome mileage with power pup?

Not sure hwat year duramax but this guy was telling me 4-5 weeks ago that his dad's dmax with intake/exhaust and power pup was getting 24.6mpg on performance setting.

Now as of today he is getting 27.2mpg with it set to performance...

I'm willing to bet his dad is going off of the displayed fuel mileage on the dash. Programmers seem to skew the mileage numbers reported by the Driver Information Center.

Tell him to drive 400 miles on a full tank, and see if he puts 20 gallons in to re-fill the tank.

so i am not the only one who thinks he is full of it right?

i know the dmaxs get decent mileage (20-21 maybe) but not 27

we have a ppe econ programmer on a lly reg cab and it gets 27 hand cal.
