SKIM what is it?

I've been doing some reading and found something about security key immobilizer module that has me worried when I go to start my 05 cr.
What is it? And how do I get around it?

it will start. the skim talks to the tipm and verifies the key is correct, then the tipm supplies the run/start signal. when you wire your truck your eliminating the tipm. you won’t have any problems.
