I need someone that own's a sled for truck pull's to contact me about an event to be held in North Florida in mid March. Yep, I need a sled. Thank's, Gary

STPA is good but they are heavy old sleds, and Brent (the owner) is very strict on saftey rules. pretty much everything that applies to a super street class and some mod class rules will apply to all of his pulling classes. Air shutoffs, loops and shields, trans blankets, kill switches, pulling hitches, NO twins (unless pulling in mod class)....etc. The list goes on. All for my truck which is a 2.5 charger.

We are in the midst of negotiating with him right now for a street class to try to get the rules more friendly for a daily driver

2.6.....ALOT of guys are still running factory chargers and that is the rules we are presently running, the next class up is open.......which is pretty much diesel powered with any amount of turbos..........IF I WANT TO BOLT A 100% FACTORY DODGE/CUMMINS HX35 ONTO MY 1991 MODEL NON-INTERCOOLED DODGE, I HAVE TO RUN THE OPEN CLASS, BECAUSE I HAVE TO BUILD A BIGGER CROSSOVER PIPE.......so how well does that work for the smaller guys......

personally here is what i would like to see as a break down for the classes, but im a rules fanatic.........:rules::rules::rules::rules:

STOCK TURBO (no water or hanging weights, bars allowed, NO ALTERED FACTORY TURBO'S)

2.6 SINGLE (no water, 1 injection pump)

3.0 SINGLE (must use all "stock" drivetrain)

3.0 LIMITED TWINS (must use all "stock" drivetrain)

UNLIMITED SINGLE (must run "stock" trans, front axle, body, and frame)

UNLIMITED TWINS (must run "stock" trans, front axle, body, and frame)

OPEN (2 rules besides safety, engine must come factory in 1 ton or smaller truck and must use factory block and head meaning Ag, Truck, or Industrial, NO BILLET!!!!)........

all classes will be diesel fueled......

both unlimited classes and the open class are the only ones allowed to have stacks through the hood......everything else behind the cab straight up or straight down......

like i said, im a rules freak and would love to have a class for every single type of truck out there pulling......

2WD's allowed with 31 inch hitch height in all classes (thank me later, Kurt and 2wdpullr)

Bullfrog,
Did you miss this thread?:

http://www.competitiondiesel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23316

Do you think the 2.6 or 2.8 would be more popular, down there?

No Sleddy i didnt miss that thread. In NC we have more Mod trucks than Street pulling trucks. As of today STPA is only pulling a Mod class

I think that 2.8 would be more popular but we have more twin trucks in the class than anything and STPA's no twin rule will kick them all to mod class. And what street twin truck would want to pull with the likes of robert miller. Then there will be maybe 3-5 guys to pull with and that's no fun.

I know what you mean, I had street twins, and had to run against Scheids and Mitchell, back in the day.

Its the nature of the beast, if you get rid of Robert, someone else will step up and put 50 feet on the class.
