anyone using sb chevy intake or ex valves springs or retainers? what size stems? or valve dia intake or ex. was thinking about 1.840 intake not sure on ex. maybe undercut stems on intake. manley makes some 5/16 also

if memory serves the yare way too short o nthe stem

Ford 351w appears to be so far the only domestic valve that is almost a drop in

cummins valves messure 5.090 long stems are .313 351w valves dia is .341 no drop in. 5/16 = .3125

i used the word "almost" - meaning your not changin architecture, valve spring seat depth, etc etc
havin only to ream for a larger stem is almost a drop in compared to most other options

I dont have the exact spec but i know my 12v head will be using valves, valve springs, locks and retainers all from manley. The valves are 11/32 stem. The valve springs im running you have to machine the pockets for them to fit. I just need to figure out what the largest intake valves you can run on a standard bore, .020 over, and .040 over pistons.

those 5/16 are really .311 made by manley. like throwin a hot dog down a hallway. ya we gotta go bigger on stems. you runin cummins valves? wanted more retainer/spring choices and a 45 deg seat want to go alittle bigger on intake.

Will a 1.84 intake will fit with a stock bore. If i know the distance between the center of the intake valve and cylinder wall on a stock bore i can figure the rest.
