Anybody got a smarty I can borrow? My truck seems to run hot, and I had a guy several years back play with the ECM that worked at cummins. I want to verify that I have the latest software in my ECM. I would pay shipping both ways. I would basically just load it with a software setting, and then return it back to stock. Anybody have any other ideas?

That should work. Make sure it is an updated smarty. Bob is at Sema this week I think but he does loaner smartys, do you have any near you that has one? You are in MO correct? I know there are several guys around that state they have one over on DTR.

Jim Jessup tune right?

No it was someone else who worked for cummins. He supposedly loaded a stock tune. I kind of wander as the truck seems to have always had high EGT's compared to anyone else I see. I am in SW MO.

I know I would like to have one loaned just so I can see if this is what I want to stack with my comp.

You running 4.10's in your 01?

BLACKDOG: I highly recommend stacking it with the comp. especially if you're running a bigger charger. I really like mine and hate driving it without it.

zstroken: how soon do you need it. the redline and power puck came in yesterday so i'll be playing with them the next week or so.

.

how do you have urs set up Level....Would it work well on my truck.

all the way , during the summer it gets a little smokey and have to leave it down on 4 & 6 but winter its on 8. i tried the revo but didn't like it , but i also didn't have time to mess with it either. on the bigger chargers it's nice. you don't waste as much fuel getting it spooled. i loan mine out to the gf sometimes and hate it, i told her to go buy her own.

Are you getting rid of the Smarty now that you got a new setup?

no i got a lot planned for the truck this winter, we will run the tests between the power puck, smarty, drag comp and redline to see wich one comes out on top.

The sooner the better, but I am not gonna say I have to have it tomorrow.

I wanted to try one to see if it really did help me spool my 64, but no one around here has the S-03.

how would the smarty help spool better or the same as a edge comp been thinking of getting a smarty to stack with edge

they brink the fuel on sooner, brings it on down low so it spools the turbo faster, makes the throttle a lot more sensitive but you learn to drive around it.
